Now, on to this weeks topic. 👇️ 

I’m happy to be home after 14 days of on-site travel-work—on 2 very different video editing jobs.

First up was the annual sales conference for Varsity Spirit—the global leader of organized cheerleading and dance competitions, in Amelia Island, FL. I was in charge of media management and editing the highlight video for the event, which was played on-site on the last day of the event.

Second was the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo—aka “The Super Bowl of Rodeo,” in Las Vegas, Nevada… where bull riders, saddle-bronc riders, tie-down ropers, and barrel horse racers compete to be the world champion in their event. As the feature editor for the NFR pre-show, I created a 2-3 minute video for each of the 10 days/rounds.

So, you could say…

I went from pop, glitter, & fashion… to rock, ropes, & dirt.

On-site event edits are always fun, but can also be quite challenging… because you are on a fixed schedule, and have to deliver quality videos quickly.

That brings us to this week’s main topic.

High quality video editing and video creation both require a wide range of skills, such as:
